I blogged about a week ago about how I haven’t been feeling the sunniest lately.
I was booked in with a hairdresser for a change and guess what, turns out I don’t need one!
I had a colour consultation for my skin tone, eye colour etc and apparently the colour I am now is just spot on.
So instead of a new colour they just gave some life to my existing colour.
You might not be able to see a noticeable difference, but I’m really loving it! It’s definitely given me a new confidence.
I didn’t come to the Aussie Curves challenge until late in the year and my participation has been really sporadic, but it has been such a great experience!
My own confidence and style has changed just by reading and seeing all the women involved.
Here’s a quick flashback of all my outfits for the past ‘year’. I can’t wait to keep participating and hopefully get to one of the meet ups!
Congratulations to Danimezza for creating a truely supportive and proactive community for plus sized women. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy but the group of women involved in Aussie Curves could not be more fabulous and amazing!
Bring on the next 12 months!!

Hello! Can you believe it? Two Aussie Curves challenges in a row!
This week is handmade. I’m a shit at sewing, I did sewing in high school and was never good at it. As I’ve gotten older I’ve taken to knitting.
I’m not an overly creative knitter, the only things I can manager are scarves, booties and beanies.
I recently finished a scarf I started about this time a year ago. It’s a pattern I’d never tried before and for a novice like me very hard. I’m pretty happy with the finished product.
This photo was taken in Canberra’s very hipster district called Lonsdale St in Braddon. The boyfriend and I had indulged in breakfast and were on our way to see a movie.
Jacket – Dream Diva
Top – City Chic
Jeans – City Chic
Scarf – ME!
Shoes – Big W
Bag – Urban Outfitters (Seattle)
Chain – Colette
Sunglasses – ASOS
Here’s a close up where you can see the scarf a bit better. I particularly love the colour and usually pair it with white or black top/jacket so it’s a statement pop of colour.

Today I’m booked in with a new hairdresser and I’m super excited!
I’m thinking I need a change! With all the negativity that’s been circling my brain lately and new hairstyle/colour is just what I need.
At the moment I’m blonde. I colour my own hair at home and that’s having some big effects on the condition of my hair. It’s becoming very dry and just YUCK!
Once upon a time my hair was my thing. It was long, blonde and well maintained by my hairdresser. My nickname is even Blondie to most of those that know me.
Now (like my mood) it’s gone downhill.
Time to get a professional intervention!
Here are a bunch of my ‘before’ photos and I’ll show my ‘afters’ soon!
Lately I’ve noticed a change with what I wear. I’m not sure if it’s because here in Canberra the weather is just getting colder, but my clothes are getting more layered and baggier.
Depending on what I’m wearing I can’t even look at myself in the mirror. I feel awful and self conscious and I hate it.
I’m not sure how to deal with it.
Actually that’s a lie. I know very much how to deal with it, but I don’t know why I’m stalling.
Lately the boyfriend and I have been living a very unhealthy lifestyle. We’re both very busy and because of that we’re making bad choices. Are exercise is next to nothing, we eat fast food or chocolate a lot more than we should and I can’t think of the last time I ate a piece of fruit.
I know all of this and yet I still can’t bring myself out of my funk to start making good choices and get my self confidence back on track.
Not that my self confidence is all related to my weight, but I think the bad food is effecting everything from my size to my moods.
I see so many inspirational bloggers and the words just aren’t coming through to me. It sucks. I’m at a very low point and I know I’m the only one that can pull me out of it. I just don’t know how.
I’ve been on another hiatus from this blog. Mostly because I’ve had a few big projects with my other blogs and it’s hard to keep up with both!
So here I am for ruffles week.
This outfit is an accidental ‘ruffles’ outfit that I actually took a few weeks ago.
I took this photo to show off my new leather & lace jacket from Dream Diva, but paired with the peplum top from City Chic it’s created a ruffle affect which I’m really loving. This has been my staple ‘Casual Friday’ outfit for the past few weeks!
Peplum Top – City Chic
Leather & Lace Jacket – Dream Diva
Bootleg Jeans – City Chic
Bag – Typo
Scarf – Hand knitted
Hope you like! 🙂

Another Aussie Curves challenge and this time I had to get super creative. I don’t have anything in my wardrobe that is typically spikey. However I think this top does just the trick, it’s studs in a zig zag pattern – spiky right?
The cardigan is from ASOS Curve and has these brown elbow patches (I love!) top is from City Chic and I picked it up in the sales, skinny jeans are from ASOS Curve and wedge boots are from Big W.
I wasn’t in love with this outfit, but now I’ve seen the pictures I’m very happy with the entire look.
My hair is boringly pulled into a ponytail, but I wanted to show my makeup. Foundation is Arbonne, blush is Napoleon Perdis, eye shadows are from MAC and liner is from NARS. I’m not wearing anything on my lips.
I’ve gotten a lot of use out of these shoes lately, I love them with my skinny jeans or teamed with leggings or tights.

My day job involves an office job and after taking a snap in the work elevator the other day I thought it was a good opportunity to show you one of my work outfits.
This is a high waisted skirt from City Chic, long sleeve teal top with embellished collar is from ASOS Curve and the leggings I have on underneath are from Big W.
Hope you like!
Today I had a meltdown. Luckily it was in the privacy of my home, because it was ugly. There were tears, red puffy eyes and lots of snot.
I’m so inspired by the plus size bloggers and how they embrace their bodies.
I’m still way behind when it comes to accepting my body and loving my curves. Sure I have days where I feel like I look amazing, but the majority of the time I’m not thinking the nicest thoughts about myself.
The whole reason I wanted to join the Aussie Curves challenge was to try and change the way I feel about myself and my body.
I know it’s going to be a long process to get there and not every day is going to be full of smiles, but when I am feeling bad (like today) I just need to jump online and be reminded that beauty can be found at any size.
